Paul Beutel

Production Consultant

Early in his career, Paul Buetel served as a film and theater critic at Austin American-Statesman and even performed in musical theatre ( winning Best Actor for ZACH Theatre's 1980 production of Chicago). Later, he became Manager of Publicity and Promotion for the nascent University of Texas Performing Arts Center before then serving as the Executive Director of  the Paramount Theater for 16 years. With the Paramount Theater, he produced the 75th Anniversary Gala, and presented the wildly successful Greater Tunaseries. Beutel has also served as Managing Director of Houston’s historic Miller Outdoor Theatre, overseeing scores of local, national, and international performances presented free to the public. In 2008, he served as the Managing Director for The Long Center, from which he retired in 2017.
